Another lovely afternoon, Hilary and I went for a short walk beside The River Tyne in our village.
This monstrosity is a pumping station, part of the Kielder “Tree Rivers” project and pumps water from Kielder Water via the River Tyne over the hills into the River Wear and thereafter into the River Tees.
All the plants are springing into life, it was good to see swathes of Wood Anemone, such simple but beautiful flowers.
Hilary spotted a plant i’m not familiar with, a Butterburr
The Bird Cherry, Prunus avium.
