Ice, Ice….
Not a bad day here today, cold and bright with lying snow adding to the fun!
Jonny noticed the ice slipping from the greenhouse roof but made the mistake of not grabbing his camera first! Ah, the youth of today, he will learn!!
Snow and blind!
Hilary had to pop over to school in Allendale this afternoon so Jack and I went along for the ride and a walk in the snow, sorry about the quality of this picture but bouncing around in the Land Rover while getting use to new varifocals proved inconjucive to good photography!
Jack had a wonderful time!
After a couple of hours trying to to restore syncronicity between eye, specs and camera, so did I…..
Newcastle, Ancient and Modern!
A trip to Newcastle today to have Lauren’s car serviced etc.
On my way back to the station I had a short walk round part of the City, for the first time I had my walking stick with me and my old Mother was right, they are a bloody nuisance! Not least because they get in the way of taking photographs, not to mention getting on the bus and buying train tickets at the machine!
This first picture is of the gateway to Chinatown.
Just a few hundred meters away in complete contrast, this is the new Business School at Newcastle University.
Ever since I was very small I have been fascinated by the cast iron vaulting of the Central Station. This is just part of the vast multi vaulted roof.
