Turner Prize 2011
It was a dreary day up here in the grim north but it presented us with the opportunity to go into Newcastle and have a look for the first time, at a Turner Prize Show.
My immediate thoughts as posted to Facebook moments after leaving the show:
Re Turner#1, I am happy to concede that I am somewhat of a heathen but five years training in design and an associated career have left me with a little appreciation of art. If these four works are the best that the British art world can produce then we can all be ashamed……
re Turner#2, for a critique I will quote Charles Brown one of my old Art College colleagues, ” It flows Man, like diarrhoea…..
Well, that will upset a few people but there we are, the truth hurts!
